ELRIC, the character, began in "Science Fantasy" magazine #47 in June of 1961, with Michael Moorcock’s novella, "The Dreaming City" (edited and published as our volume #1). It is an epic tragedy which takes place on an alternate Earth. The simplest way to describe this huge body of work is succinctly written on the back of the first novel, "Elric of Melnibone": For ten thousand years Melnibone ruled the world. Elric, the 428th Emperor, seemed destined to see that era come to an end. An albino, sustained by rare drugs, it fell to him to confront the rise of the Young Kingdoms (i.e. humans), of the monsters and sorceries which were threatening to overwhelm him and his ancient crown. This DAW series of six Mass Market paperbacks is the original publication by Moorcock which brings together the various short stories and novels which create Moorcocks "Elric Saga". They were arranged to create the continuity and chronology which had been lacking up until this point and became the basic foundation for latter work. All of the volumes have been stored, are unread, and in beautiful condition for their ages. Please email if you would like a large, individual picture of any or all of the books.
